Love this App!

Just a quick shout out to one of my favorite apps on my iphone... Tracker Lite!

I use it to mark off the days on which I've taken a Bikram Yoga class. It was especially useful/uplifting during my first 30 Day Challenge in March. Actually, even now during non-challenge time, I just LOVE ticking off another day in my calender after I've dragged my butt to gracefully finished a yoga class, YAY :)

Here's the screenshot from this past month... I'm happy with how often I've made it into the hot room, considering I'm busy busy enjoying summer and all that it entails this year :)

Namaste.

PS: Total number of  Bikram classes attended since starting eleven months ago... 141... yeaaaah :)

  1. Hey Yogi!
What interests me the most is that (afaik) Bikram Yoga is kept quite simple and straight to the point. As I understand it, you do not really learn something new every lesson, but keep repeating the same postures in the same order. Right?
But nevertheless you keep on practicing 3 times a week, which is really, REALLY quite impressive. That means that those lessons must give you a lot more than just the physical workout, and I am wondering what that could possibly be.

  2. Hi Anonymous!

Yes, in Bikram Yoga we practice the same 26 postures plus 2 breathing exercises every class, in the same sequence. (This is the beginner's class which is taught in all the Bikram studios; there is also an Advances Bikram class and it consists of all 84 Hatha postures. It is usually only held in seminars or classes for teachers/very advanced students.)

Nevertheless, it never gets boring. You cannot ever "perfect" your yoga and thus, there is always something to work on. It never gets "easy" either... Your body and your mind are never the same and of course they influence your practice! If your mind is preoccupied you will work that much harder to stay focused. At the same time you will be practicing to stay calm and concentrate, even when circumstances are not ideal (the heat, the preoccupied mind, etc)... this is something that you can take with you and utilize in everyday life!

    Try it, it works :)
    Namaste.
