Graduation Day at the Alma Mater

Last weekend I visited the university where I did my exchange semester. A dear friend had her graduation day. It was a lot of fun to be back in the old stomping grounds and celebrate her day :)

Boy, what a production they make of those graduation ceremonies... Basically clapping and cheering for every. single. Bachelors degree... VERY different from Germany. I got my Masters in Mathematics and Engineering and I'm still waiting for anybody to cheer for me ;)

  4. Yeah, my "graduation" was a total non-event as well. I mean, at what point should I have screamed: YESSS, I DID IT! and partied like there was no tomorrow?
    a) After finishing my thesis,
    b) after presenting my thesis,
    c) after finishing the REVIEWS of my thesis,
    d) after receiving my grade, or
    e) after actually receiving my diploma?

Please note that 5 months passed between A and E.

So guess when I did celebrate... yes, never. None of those events made me feel like: YESSSSS, I DID IT!!! YAAAAAAY!!! Sure, it made me happy and sigh a sigh of relieve, but that was about it.

    Hm.

PS, I just want to add that of course my family was happy and proud and took me out to dinner and I also got graduation presents... but there was never a OMG OMG CHEEEEER!!!! moment.
